May 23, 2011
Hola Amigos de Canada.  Well. this week has been an exciting and crazy week.  To start off with I had three different campions this week,  because Elder Aguirre had divisions and meetings. I had a campion that has 5 weeks in the mission and he is American so you know what that means--both of us together with very little Spanish!  It was tough but we were able to program 3 people for baptism for the 5th of June.  Well, the Spirit did because I don't know what we said.  It was pretty awesome.  On Saturday we had an investigator who wanted to be baptized on Sunday but she wasn't married.  We said OK!  We're going to Mexico tomorrow to marry you to your husband. Wow, we got so lost in Mexico and the car was so small and could only go 90 km an hour.  So, we left at 1:00 and didn't get to Mexico until 4:00 and by then the place was closed so we didn't get her married.  We are going to marry her this week in Pachuca and she will get baptised with her son next week.  Our baptism that we had for last week but we couldn't find her; well, we found her Tuesday and the reason she didn't show up was because she didn't have a towel or sandals.  I felt sooo bad.  But Elder Aguirre and I talked to a another member and she gave us a towel and sandals and boom, we baptised her Tuesday afternoon.  I baptized her and when she came out of the water it wasn't very spiritual because she drank some of the water so she was coughing and freaking out.  Whoops, but she is baptised and was crying and it was pretty sweet, not going to lie!  Mission changes next week and Elder Aguirre and I both think one of us is leaving so we will see what happens with that. The big, freaky news is that the first week in July the new mission opens and President says he has to choose 60 missionaries for that mission.  I don't want to leave this mission but we will see what happens with that. I'm doing good,  I'm teaching and this week was very good.  I love seeing people change and accept the Gospel. We have neighbours that are members who just feed us all the time and its good food.  I think I'm gaining weight!  I wish I had more time to write but the internet and the computers are very slow here.  I'm doing well, and all is well.  One thing I'm learning is the purpose of the full time missionaries is to help the members with missionary work - not the other way around!  So, remember that and be a missionary everyday!  OPEN YOUR MOUTHS and bear your testimony .  Your personal testimony is so strong.  I know the church is true. and all is well for me.  Take care.

Elder Spencer Holst and Elder Matt Karl were at the MTC for part of the time that Darren was there.  It is always great to see familiar faces!
